We took a tour of the British Isles; England, Ireland & Scotland. Then Normandy, Norway & Amsterdam. So far, that trip is the lead item on my highlight reel. Being a history buff, I was like a kid in Disneyland.

When we were at the American Cemetery above Omaha Beach, there was a platoon of French Army soldiers present. They were there to pay their respects to the Americans who returned their freedoms to them. My opinion of the French Army went up a click that day.
I managed to bring home a small sample of sand from Omaha Beach, which now occupies a place of honor in my home.
