Shooting at Movie Theatre in Colorado
I just wanted to post a new story about a shooting at the opening of the new "Batman" movie in Colorado. Here is a link to the story http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/07/20/12850048-14-shot-dead-at-dark-knight-rises-screening-in-aurora-colorado?lite>1=43001. Let us pray for the families of the victims that were involved in this shooting. Stories such as this one make me shudder. He was armed with a rifle and two pistols. I do not believe anyone armed with only a pistol could successfully stop a determined murderer like this. So faced with this situation, what would you do? If you read the story then you will also see he used tear gas and was wearing body armor. It would be difficult for the average CCW holder to stop this situation. So, once again, what would you do?

In a situation like that I think my first instinct would be to run like hell. Unless it was someone that was really close and could shoot him in the head, I don't think there's much anyone could do because of the tear gas.
It's sad because these kinds of crazy people are why gun owners get a bad rap. I'm sure movie theaters will now start putting no firearms signs on their doors. Very sad for the people that had to die in fear and for the people that had to witness it as well. I have to contact my friend that lives in Denver and make sure she's alright.

I think that this one will be a battle for the anti gunners and pro gunners alike if you you tighten the gun ban it will happen all the time if you were able to carry in places like movies this tragedy could have been stopped a hell of a lot sooner and not as many people would have been hurt. Man those killed rest in peace and lose who battle with injuries hope for a good recovery

I am wondering why there were absolutely NO return shots. I am guessing it is because a midnight premiere of Batman would have drawn primarily young (read liberal) viewers, who are less likely to carry concealed.

Maybe I'm being an arsehole but listening to this dude try to explain how he left his kids behind, letting his wife save them both just rubs me the wrong way.

Amc has a policy prohibiting them, and one member stated this one was posted.

Well, then, why did that shooter go in there with firearms? Can't he read?
