A lone shooter wounded a LEO and has been arrested. No others have been reported injured. The shooter is reported to have had a rifle.

FBI Terrorism Task Force is on the scene.

It is now being reported that two people have been transported to the hospital.

Any indication of the resume of the gunman ( Unemployed? Old? Young? Student? Anti-Semitic? )

Fits the profile to a "T" I am afraid. That is where I was going with my earlier question. My immediate thought was a white supremacist that had recently lost his last remaining loved one ( a tie to the "normal" world ) or had lost his job and was looking to "make a statement".

Anything happen, of significance, on this day in History? Yeah, I probably should know, but I don't....

If not, it will be interesting to see what his "trigger" was to go off today of all days. Obviously this was a targeted group - but what was the cause that led to today??

I hate to see this - especially in DC, it's only going to fuel the Left...

I think you mentioned earlier he had a rifle. Probably a person to person out of state sale and smuggle.

Even though none of this should splash on responsible gun owners, we will still be blamed....

What we won't hear is how he got the rifle illegally. As JD stated, he should have been eye balled by those that make the laws to protect us from ourselves. Here's a guy illegally possessing a fire arm in DC and he commits a crime with the ill gotten rifle while a guy in an open carry state gets arrested for carrying on his own property because a neighbor did not like it. Something is wrong with the whole picture.

I wish the victims and their families well and I wish the lunatic death prior to prison where he will interact with other like minded persons.

MSN reports "A law enforcement source said the gunman was shot in the face, and authorities say he is in critical condition." No RIP for you, hater.

Note* CNN says the killer is from Maryland (presumably, right across the river). There are a couple of people in Maryland who are on another forum i frequent. They have commented that they cannot buy magazines that hold more than 10 rounds for rifles they are building up, doesn't seem like that law helped in this case.
