I told the Dr. no I never have a pain of any kind and my confidence level is very high. Dr. Adams says well we need to do a blood test. He said a fellow my age should have some pains. The blood test came back 25%Scotch and 75% Burbon.

I don't complain about the aches and pains. My back is a bit fubared after 34 years on the streets and so is my right shoulder, but I really don't care. I cheated the Reaper twice and that gives me some appreciation for things without the complaining. Back in '09 when we were getting ready to have the G-20 Summit in Pittsburgh, I was assigned to be a tac team commander. We were 4 days out and getting some new gear at the shop when I had chest pains. The guys rushed me into a medic unit and to the ER. They found a "widowmaker" coronary blockage, 95% blocked. The cardiologist fixed it with no heart damage and I worked the Summit 2 days later. Then, in '10 I had to have my Mitral Valve rebuilt at Cleveland Clinic. The surgeon wanted to do a double bypass because he mistrusted stents and wanted me to have a full life post surgery. I ok'ed it and all went well, even though I was convinced that I had a decent chance of not making it off of the table. I consider this cheat #2. Everything's been fine since, but this started me thinking about many things, including that it was time to get out of public safety. I took my retirement in '11.

I sell auto parts now along with my guns as a side business still. Deal with the aches and pains and whatever. Life is fleeting. Enjoy shooting! That's what they make Aleve for.
