I'm 66 today and my son had stopped by yesterday and left me an envelope with a card and gift inside. I just cant bring myself to open the damn thing up. Between the hurricane and the election I feel like crap. My wife's been telling me recently that if I wanted to buy another gun I should. I was considering a Sig 1911, or maybe a Saiga 410, but then I thought to myself it may not be a good idea, cause I have so much stuff I'll probably start getting rid of it soon. Whoever coined the phrase "The Golden Years" should be shot.

I was at my daughter's place last night. She had a Tastefully Simple party where they present items for sale, like the Tupperware parties of old. My cousin walked in and the first words out of my mouth to her was, "You look just like your Mom." We are all starting to resemble our parents. All the other guests had left and all that was left there was my daughter, granddaughter, cousin and I and we talked for a long time. I don't see my cousin often enough and I miss her. We reminisced and it was so fun.

...with a brand new Sig 1911. Go for it. How many times does a wife suggest her husband buys a new gun?

I think usually when they think he may die soon and doesn't want him to come back to haunt her.

Default Trying to age with grace... ain't easy - just necessary

After younger women - usually with kids in tow - started holding doors open for me, I realized I was a "senior". I'm not complaining though.

To rant a bit, it's a shame so many TSA people are so very disrespectful to "seniors" during their "illusion of security" inspections. I've seen them be so rude to people in wheelchairs and with walking canes it makes me sick... my consolation is that in time the "Old Age Truck" is goin' to nail them too!! Bwhahahahahahahaha!

I'm glad I found this forum!
