Default Said good bye to a friend

After about 11 years of companionship, our Black Lab mix started having seizures about 6 months ago. Vet suspected a brain tumor, but a $3000 MRI and $5-7000 surgery were out of the question. $125/month for anti-seizure meds were in my budget.

She had about 1 seizure every two weeks on the meds, but I knew every one was causing more damage. Tuesday night, she had three seizures. The last one did not end. Rollercoaster ride the rest of the night. Got her to the Vet at 07:30. They got the seizures to stop, but the damage was already done. Blind and not at all "there" it was time to say good bye.

Euthanized yesterday after noon after saying bidding farewell.

As we are planning on retiring and moving in the next two years, we could not leave any more "behind". She will be cremated and we can keep her with us.

Anna. Rest in peace.

It is never easy, but when it is time, you know what duty you owe your friend.

I'm so sorry, Robo. You are a good dog owner. It's never easy but it is the right thing to do. My thoughts are with you at this time. Dear in peace, Anna. You were very loved.

There is dog out there looking for you. I can assure you he will find you. It is about humans and the dogs they love.

Dango, dogs find their companions. Humans have very little to say about it. Think about how the dog attracted you?

Dogs are some of the finest creatures on this planet (I like em more than most people) and labs are among the finest and most loving of dogs. My condolences.

Even as, if not because they are, knotheads the black lab is loved and appreciated by many of us, and our families. On the other hand Since early childhood the dogs that stand out for me are the Mutts, no pedigree, no descending line, just some of this and some of that, with a little of something else thrown in made a perfect match for my personal attachment of the time.
So Robo, I share your loss and wish you well on your connecting to another four legged fuzzbuckett that will get under your skin, and keep you on your toes and warm at the lonelier times when a two legged friend just would not understand the issue.
