44 in MO is a HIGHLY accident prone highway that seems to get the worst of the worst in terms of accidents. It's not uncommon for EMS personnel to fill in for other departments that are strained for resources. There are many, many serious accidents on 44 in MO right now that will require 5-6 ambulances per accident. Those ambulances will probably become thinned out as they head West down 44 to help with other accidents and to fill in for other districts. I HOPE they are all headed straight to Joplin with no stops in between. Basically, EMS resources on 44 are severely stretched right now, and so we have no idea where those ambulances are actually going
