His book Red Storm Rising was required reading for my ROTC class in the late 80's.

Great author and american!.
I hope he willed some of his estate to the NRA.

I didn't know this. He is one of my favorites. The Mitch Rapp series is great.

Tom Clancy is another of the great military/suspense novelists. The Jack Ryan series is great and several his offshoot stuff is quite good as well. He will be missed.

That's so sad.. I read every one of his Ryan series.. until the kids needed shelf space they were all out in order on my shelf.. just started reading one not to long ago... RIP Mr. clancy
