Alright, guys. You wanna bash women? Go right ahead. Personally, I wouldn't bash men because I kind of like men, as a whole. There are some individuals I may not like, though. Go ahead. Bash away. But know that there are women who come here and read these threads.

That's the one thing I make sure to not do (have double standards I mean). Our golden rule for our relationship that serves us well is that if we wouldn't do or say something if the other one was standing right next to us, we don't say or do it when the other one isn't there. Now do I have other crazy things that he puts up with........ Oh yeah!! Haha. But I think I'm worth it. Heehee.

That's a very good attitude, but I do have a question. Why is it that a woman can look at her favorite actor or music star and say to her significant other something along the lines of, "He can park his boots under my bed anytime." yet if the significant other was to say he wouldn't mind seeing some actress's bra hanging on his bedpost he's going to spend the rest of his life either on the couch or paying alimony? That is a double standard, and I've seen it too many times to count.

Winds, my remark was made in pure jest and not to be taken serious by any means. my remark was more of a humorous jab at my ex-wives than all women.

in all fairness, my current wife is actually not a woman of double standards. we try very hard to be equal and fair towards each other. but i have seen and went through it with my ex-wives.

my first wife cheated on me several times, and i was accused of it many times by her, even though i never did. so for her, it seemed as it was allright for her to cheat, but not me, even though IMO, because of her actions, it should have been perfectly acceptable.

Other women may make those comments, I truly do not (because it's not in my heart to think it). I hear what you're sayin' though with regards to other women that do though...... It is definitely a double standard. From experience in seeing other men make this comment, the only difference I could possibly see is that the woman may say it once and forget about it and the man may become obsessive about it (hanging pics and such). It's rare to enter a "woman cave" and find pictures of men hanging from the walls or magazines of them stuffed somewhere. That's a different level than a comment. Maybe that's the difference????

When I was married, if my husband drooled over an actress or whatever, I sure as heck didn't mind. Usually the object of his attention WAS a very beautiful woman. Did I think he would ever cheat on my? Nope, I new he never would. I don't mind at all if "my man" ogles a beautiful woman. It doesn't take anything away from me.

Oh, really? *rushes to remove calenders of shirtless men*

But seriously, men and woman are 'hard wired' differently when it comes to sex. Men are much more "visually" aroused than women. We are more "emotionally" aroused. That's why men like to hang those 'nudie' calenders and look at those "gentlemen's" magazines. The problem comes in when the magazines and fantasies take away from the real world and the real relationship........as in addicted to porn.
