A real American hero dies and not a mention of it in the news.

Michael Jackson dies and itís 24/7 news coverage. A real American hero dies and not a mention of it in the news.

Ed Freeman

You're a 19-year-old kid. You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter and you look up to see an unarmed Huey, but it doesn't seem real because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out, through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses.

And he kept coming back, 13 more times, and took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient Ed Freeman died on Wednesday, June 25th, 2009, at the age of 80, in Boise , ID. May God rest his soul.

Since the media didn't give him the coverage he deserves, we will.

THANKS AGAIN, ED, FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR OUR COUNTRY.
RIP

I read that somewhere, but no, it did not get the attention he deserved. He didn't have any #1 hits.............sad state of the country right there. :(

Ed Freeman is an American hero. Freeman and others did the Med-Evac job of 1/7 Cav. at Ia Drang because Med-Evac refused to go into a hot LZ. May he rest in peace.

America has been led down the trail of socialism for quite a few years, at least sense the 20th century. With the schools teaching their personal platforms we have seen that True American Heroís who risked their all, for this great country, Belittled, ridiculed, spit on and just plane old hated.

A lot of this really started around the middle 60ís when socialism became popular in our collages. It was ok to hire a socialist teacher who would corrupt the minds of our children. In order for socialism to be thrust up on Americans they would have to infiltrate all out higher learning and thusly infiltrate our lower grades as time passed. That being done they have their hands in teaching our children the evilís of socialism and teach them that it is the right way to be.

Part of the socialist/communist agenda is to institute sexual perversion as the norm, and excepted way of life. Other teachings they have to instill in our children are such things as GOD does not exist, what the news media tells you is the truth, degrade our Heroís as war mongers/killers/and purveyors of lies. Replace Art with abstract, ugly things that no one knows what it is and convince the children that it represents something special. These are but a few things that socialists must corrupt in order for them to gain power over a free nation and subject it to their form of slavery.

Now you might say what does this have to do with our Heroís? Well it has a lot to do with them sense one goal is to degrade our Heroís and make them seem as the bad guys.

We see the on the television and read in our publications the exaltation and Saintliness of such people like Michael Jackson, Cha Gavara, Cindy Sheehan, who never risked their lives for one thing American. Never do they join the military and offer their sacrifice to preserve our great country, but yet these self same people will have icons erected to their memory of everything from sexual perversion to down right American bashing.

The anti-war memorials that have been erected in the U.S. are an affront to the sacrifices that our true Heroís like Pappy Boyington, Ed Freeman, Ira Hayes, and to many more to list here. Though they are unrecognized as the Heroís by the socialists, they are not forgotten by many still true patriotic Americans.

Keep posting the news of such Heroís on this board because I am not ashamed of them one dam bit.

That is the type of man this country needs more of but sadly they are harder and harder to find. I'm sure the wives and children of those he saved will always remember this great American and what he did for their familes. I would like to see the wake at his funeral, I bet it was HUGE!

Flew as a passenger with Too Tall many years ago. Man could fly about anything the Army had.

Rest in Peace Too Tall, you were everything that a hero embodies and you are sadly missed!

God Speed Soldier!
