Geese were a problem at the gravel pit but I put 3 hot wires about 3' apart and about 6" off the ground around the water. I already had a hot wire to keep the cattle out of the pond so it was easy. After about a week in the spring you can take it down and will not have a problem till fall.

Talk about something funny to watch, geese land in the water then decide to come out on shore - - - they can't figure which end is up but they get back to the water real quick then after about the 2nd or 3rd time out they leave and don't come back!

I rake leaves into my garden every fall. My son also dumps the grass clippings in there.

No, but I do have pet Chinchillas that have some very good fertilizing poop. Kind of like rabbit poop. That all goes in the garden, too.
