Back in high school I was with 3 friends, one is a Mormon so he had not been drinking (his name is Mark). The rest of us were drunk and Mark is blind. We spent about a half hour in the high school parking lot trying to teach the blind Mormon how to drive so that he could drive us home. Unfortunately we were all yelling out instructions (as drunken teenagers tend to do) so he understandably had hit a couple of curbs and a lightpost or two when a cop pulled into the parking lot. Through sign language we didn't let on to Mark about it. The cop watched us for a few minutes and then pulled in and started following us, then turned on his lights. we still didn't tell Mark. He ran up on the curb and hit another lightpole, ripping off a fender, before the cop hit his siren. Mark stopped and the cop walked up and asked for a driver's license, I forgot to mention that Mark wore dark sunglasses all the time because his eyes are pretty grotesque. The cop asked him to step out of the car and Mark (now knowing what was going on) played the fumbling blind dude, fumbling his way out of the car and over-exaggerating his need to feel his way around. The cop has his flashlight in Mark's face and tells him to take off his G'Danged sunglasses. Mark took them off and the cop lost all shades of pale when he looked into those grotesque eyes. It was funny as all get out!!!!

Anyhow, thought you might enjoy the story. Standardization is why it is done. Either that or they expect a bunch of drunken teenagers to commandeer a blind dude to drive their car to get money to buy more booze.

People are in prison because they broke the law. Many of them were abused as children. Those are the facts. I did exaggerate in using the word "overwhelmingly". I would venture that their abuse began with spankings which were ineffective and escalated to harsher forms of physical discipline.

You are absolutely correct in saying "that it is more likely that they are there due to a lack of respect for others and for the rule of law, both of which are a by product of having NO DISCIPLINE". This is partially true (many prisoners are mentally ill). But the form of that discipline is where we differ in opinion apparently. My kids are highly disciplined and highly respectful. I have never used spanking in disciplining them.

(End of rant. Stepping off of soapbox)
Fair enough, Vike. And honestly, what pumped me up like a "Banty rooster" was your comment that you get "riled up when people say they turned out just fine". You say that wasn't you passing judgement, and I believe you, but I hope that you can see how it might be perceived that you were. Up to that point it HAD all been opinion. Each way, I might add, and had that not been part of your post I would not even have chimed in.

'sall good, man.

I was considering what impact ATM location might have on bear populations; i think braile keypads might encourage bear encroachment.

Training for dating later in life; you might meet one girl who doesn't mind the occaisional dutch date, but you have to buy when you cheat on her with her friends.

I totally would! Shoes off, tiptoes, the whole thing...of course, my feet are not exactly a pleasant scratch-n-sniff sticker.

Since Hollywood is clearly out of original ideas for movies and have been recycling pure crap for the past 15 years or so...Why not a Fire Marshal Bill movie? Remember him?

You know what I hate? When you flash that car because you think they have their brights on... But it turns out those were the "dims" and your retinas are burned right outta your skull..... On my old cars the brights arnt as bright as newer cars "dims"...

Fuses? I prefer the glass tube type over the plastic blade type....
(Again, I had to...)

2. MM, no offense, but i think you are spending too much time on the road. It seems to be making you angry; perhaps those Angry Birds could help?

3. Like electrical fuses or explosives fuses?

4. Well DUH, it says "diet" right there on the label; of course it is nasty as molded monkey butt.

5. Internet porn surfing requires "a helluva drug"; you should chew for better hands freedom.

6. Good luck with that; i was at the chiropracter this morning. I want the Terminator's spine for my birthday.
