Now, I did not SAY that was yours...................

But I do know what the sun does to green paint over time......

BTW, if you make it up to Ogden sometime, and have not done so, go visit the little museum at the old Union Station train station. It includes of lot of stuff of John Brownings- and it's about $5 for admission.

I'll have to go check it out sometime, that's not too far from where I live.

I wanted to break all his bones, I didn't like the way he looked at me or talked to me and he made a really inappropriate comment, I just told him to get his disgrace-to-the-male-population a$$ out of my shop.

Do you sell the honey? What got you started in 'bees'?
I do work the hives in shorts sometimes, but I will also keep a veil handy just in case. Getting stung on the head sorta sucks because you can't pull the stinger out yourself. If I get stung anywhere else I usually don't feel it and/or don't care. The thing is that once a single bee has stung you or your clothes or whatever it sets off this pheromone that makes all of the other bees aggressive. That "change in the force" thing I mentioned (the "change" can be many hundreds of different things) is alarmingly apparent in the aforementioned scenario. This is the same mechanism that lights off the Africanized Honeybee ("killer" bees). Its all about pheromones. My wife does not actively participate (other than financially) in the beekeeping unless she has to. When she does she wears the full protection. To date I don't think she has been stung once since I have known her.

We do sell honey, but it has not been a profit making venture for over 5 years now. More of a labor of love and still in the red at this point.

I "started" keeping bees with my dad back in the '70's. He gave up after a few years but the interest stayed alive in me (I could tell you some good stories!) and 5 or 6 years ago I started up again with my oldest son helping out (he is 15 now).

Uh, that's the problem, he's just big Joe... I didn't stick around to find anything else out, actually I kicked him out of the shop.

Pretty sure he's not coming back, so I won't get a chance.
