USA mags were not the highest quality, and everyone in the industry started shying away from selling them. They were not heat treated.
No idea what happened to Carlos. He had some other biz projects back in the '80s, but I don't know if he is still in the gun biz in any manner.

My favorite dealer just got a shipment of Mosin Nagants in, stopped by today and they are all beautiful - still packed in cosmoline. She said she would price them at $125 and should have some surplus 7.62x54r in by this afternoon . I know what I'm doing tomorrow!
