Northern Ohio is flat and no rolling hills.

My daughter has been living in small, dreary apartments ever since she moved out of my home. This past weekend she moved into a nice, bright, airy duplex. She is excited to have a small yard for her daughter to play in, her own entrance in the front and sliding glass doors in the back. I went and saw it yesterday. It was bright, cheery, spotlessly clean and in a well kept neighborhood. I am so excited for her. It almost made me want to sell my little place and move, too.

The only down side. Her last apartment was only three blocks down the street from me. This duplex is about ten miles away. Not a big deal, though. I live in a small rural town and there is never much traffic on the roads. I am very happy for her. She's a very hard working single Mom, supporting herself and going to school.

I'm not worried about the distance. She's about a mile from where I work and I can drive those 10 miles in about 20 minutes. I'll still be at her place 2-3 times a week anyway. My daughter and I are good friends and wild horses couldn't keep me from my much loved granddaughter.

My granddaughter will be five on May 22 (if the world doesn't end on May 21, as predicted) and she already can text me a couple short sentences on her Mama's phone. We're starting her young. I keep teasing my daughter that I'm going to buy the grand child her own cell phone. Hahahaha

It sounds nice, but take a close look at that sliding door. Some of the older ones can be popped off their lil track/frame pretty quickly. At least get a broom handle or something to make it harder. I've heard the newer sliders are more burglar resistant.

Thank you. I will take a look at it. What would I look at to see if it can pop off pretty quick? She does have a thick dowel rod in the track already.

Very true. Did you have a bad experience? If so, we'd like to hear about it.
