We had temps in the 30's a week or two ago. Now we get the heat and wind. Perfect earthquake weather...

Pardon my ignorance, but the weather makes earthquakes more likely?

Some think so.

When it goes from the 20's/30's for a few weeks, to overnight hitting the 90's the theory is that the ground contracts and expands minutely. In an area with lots of fault lines that could conceivably lead to earthquakes.

The Northridge quake in 1994 met this criteria. 20's and frost for a month, followed by 90's and hot dry wind for weeks.

Remember, he's from California.

Logic isn't required, and at times could be a detriment.

That is awesome right there!

A this is the Random thoughts thread, here's a random thought:

I am tired of working Sundays. I have worked every weekend for the last 6 years and I am tired of it!

There, I vented.

I just found myself sitting in my Ameristep OUTHOUSE blind on my back deck trying to capture. My backyard visitors in action. No such luck wrong time of the day for them. The neighbor looked over with a OMG WTF is he doing over there look on his face it was kind of funny.

I really want to put a web cam up on one of my feeders and stream it to the web. I don't have enough bandwidth right now. If verizon ever bring Fios to my block I will get to do it.
