Skin dry, no problem. Use some metro gunk on your face,...still dry,..only solution is to shave off beard.....down to just the Stache...lubricate face again,...still too dry. You'd think I was roasting my face in the Az. Sun...

A while ago I noticed the Doc working the ER tonight has an awesome car. It's an old Mercedes. So tonight I had opportunity to talk to the Doc.

Me: You only ordered a PT. Did you want the PTT also or just the PT?

Doc: I'm just checking his INR for the coumadin.

Me: Okay. One other question. What year is your car?

Doc: 1979.

Me: That car is beautiful!

Doc: Wanna buy it?

Me: No.

We both laugh then we hang up.

I havent figured out if I was born lysdexic or just becoming that way. All the sudden one day a couple years ago I realized most of my spelling or numerical mistakes were transpositions. Even my humor bone seems to favor word play that reverses things purposely, that drives my wife batty. Might have been like that forever, never heard of anyone getting DL, they were born with it! Its funny how many times Spellcheck illuminates it yet nobody including me caught it for 50 years!

Kinda like when I realized my Mom taught me how to tie my shoes wrong with a granny knot. I always wondered why my shoes seemed to come untied more than other people! That was only a few years ago and I have to conscientiously tie them now or I still do it wrong.

I have a close friend I Taught with in the Bronx in the 1980's when I was still in the reserves. He had dyslexia so bad that he had to have both his NYS teaching license Test and the NTE( Nat'l Teaching Examination) delivered Orally instead of written. He was a great teacher, but was just not cut out to teach profoundly handicapped Wheelchair restricted kids. He went back to NH and got a job teaching the college coursework for disabled students at SNHU....where he still works today, and will retire from a year from next January...

Dyslexia isnt a death sentence or even a game killer. A buddy of mine is a Tool and Die maker Extraordinaire and as dyslexic as they come. Only me and a couple others that work with him know, he wont tell a soul, he's way too proud of what he can do not what he doesnt do so well (He cant write a paragraph without having someone check it).

I dont know how he keeps the numbers that he works with straight but he calls a hair fit slop work, he spins metal so intricately that its a marvel to watch. 1.2654809... I couldnt do it but somehow he does. Just dont talk to him when hes juggling numbers or setting a machine, he gets angry!
