Yeah. Great job Trip. Too bad the kid is still stuck with a drunk for a mother. Not that you could do anything about it. Probably saved the kids life as it is.

Just gotta say, he is a grown-up. You are not a doctor. You haven't clarified that you are familiar with that medication or his reaction to it.

Important safety information:
•Phenergan may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you use it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Phenergan with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
If MM asked for it by name, he is probably familiar with how it affects him.

Have you ever driven with a cold or the flu? http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/1631786/driving_affected_by_cold_flu_symptoms/

It's too bad they couldn't have simply sent him home with a Phenergan tablet to take upon his safe arrival...assuming his extreme nausea didn't cause him to spew the windshield with barf and then wreck his truck.

No, but the doctor told him he couldn't drive home if they gave him the shot.

He also said he'd driven when he couldn't feel his legs, that kind of **** pisses me off. I am not saying I'm perfect but I do my best to not endanger the lives of others by my actions. If he wants to do stupid **** and blow himself of then that's great, if he wants to endanger other people and brag about it on the internet I'm going to say something about it because I disagree with it.

Sure, I've had doctors tell me various things of questionable honesty/truth in the past. They are worth a bit less than what you pay them, IMO. But in the MM case, the doctor may or may not have been familiar with his medical history and past use of different medications. The doctor was probably erring on the side of safety in his ignorance of MM's precise reaction to that medication (fairly mild IME). IOW, the doctor was probably just covering his posterior.

I would not wish to discourage you from offering advice, even less than friendly advice, but offering advice in ignorance of the relevant facts and in a...unkind tone is seldom helpful to anyone. You could simply call him one of the words we aren't allowed to post and move on, yielding the same net effect. (we can still post pictures of symbols of those words)

Perhaps this cat picture would be useful to you in such situations:

It seems to me to express puzzlement, possibly at the actions of another.

Disagree away . Not feeling my legs has NOTHING to do with my driving skills or lack thereof . Grandpa drove for YEARS after his stroke that left him dead on his left side , oh , forgot , he drove his little 4spd datsun truck for years , along with his tractor , mowers and anything else with wheels . Strange how amputees seem to drive as well . Asking for the shot by name tells them I know JUST what I am getting and its effects , which MAY make a toddler sleepy , compare that with some of the other crap I have to take that would kill most of you , its nothing . They do that to cover their own butts which I understand . It was a PA who I had never seen before , if it had been my reg dr he MAY have given it to me .
To me , driving as sick as I was was much worse than any of the meds they could have given me .
We all have tragic drunk driving stories , being in the towing world I have more than most of you , do I condone it ? hell no , I charge them more when it comes to impounds if i can .
I took 3 pills before I even pulled out of the drive thru .
'' Oh thats stupid , selfish and dangerous ''
Your right , if I had a 20 minute drive home , it would be .
Fact is , I live less than 5 miles .

As far as my caveman like bragging on the internet goes , hey its the internet so I will challenge anyone on this site with some good driving skills , none of this 10&2 checking your mirrors and gauges every 10 seconds crap , talking about real driving , think they call it careless and reckless ?

I took the stuff once, in shot form. Had no reaction at all except that I stopped puking. A buddy got it at the same time. He started screaming about flying monkeys.

What a whiner; they throw poo on the ground anyway, so what is the difference between dropped poo damage and thrown poo damage.

we use to have used book store and the lady that owned it did the same thing, half price of the listed price new, and gave credit on books as well. she passed away a few years ago, so now my only options are WalMart, Amazon.com or Ebay.

Some thrift stores are good sources for books. They are usually a buck or less for hardbacks and fifty cents for paperbacks.

Also, Amazon has a lot of older, out of copyright, books available for free kindle download.

Those folks all willingly went into harms way. None of them warrants rescuing.
