My Grannie died this weekend. Of course I don't get to go to her funeral because of work. They were nice enough to let me go to the last 30 minutes of the wake instead of finishing my shift out last night though.

That was one spunky, sweet old lady and I will miss her and everything about her (except her fruitcake). If she saw my exception to her fruit cake she'd flip me the bird with 2 crooked middle fingers and threaten to whip me like she whipped my momma and her 9 other children. And then she'd kiss me on the cheek and tell me that's ok I love you anyway.

RIP Grannie. Give those Aggies hell if you see any of em at the pearly gates.

Remember her fondly, love her always & grieve her briefly.

DeltaF,

Remember the good times with her and be thankful she's in a better place. That's the best way to remember her and honor her.

our tugs at the quarry always pushed our barges up and down the Hudson only time they did different was if they were just moving a single barge over to the loading area they would tie up to the side.

If any of you know ANYTHING about Warrenton , Arcola and Hollister NC you know what i am talking about . It is literally a whole different world , they are almost like the Cajuns of Nc , most are either Indian or mixed Indian and very hard to understand even for a redneck like me . Nothing racist about , the same way at the outer banks or Down East as we call it , Good people but very different and almost have their own dialect , after dating a girl from there for 3 yrs I started talking like them and thats when I had to go .

Dad had a bit of pity for him b/c he was doing chemo whith mom back in the day. SO I set dad straight with the fact that he did not pay for his treatments like we had to , he lived and continues to do bad , we have helped him and his out several times in the past yet he still stole from us .
Dropping the hammer , I gave him a little bit of the benefit of a doubt but after digging into his persona a bit , I have no pity .
I hope he enjoys his jail turkey on thursday , doubt they will have the money to bail him out before then .

BTW we were told that what ever comes off the scales goes straight to the shredder . I am still appalled by this place . All scrap yrds around here are required to photo , finger print , copy your DL , photo your truck and load .
This place ? NOTHING well except copy of their DL .
I mean DAM* , you can steal a load of copper or what have you , in the middle of the night , ANY DAY of the week , sell it right after and its gone forever in the shredder .
How this effing place is even legal I dont know , it may not be , but I can promise I will be talking to some gov oversight agency tomar about them just to see .
A normal scrap yrd will always promote a certain amount of crime in the area but you open one 24/7 and its going to sky rocket .
I had no Idea about this place and its got me as pissed off as the jack offs robbing us .

Makes me happy that he thinks dad has let him off
think we are a little high , the trucks heater core was leaking the whole time foggin up the inside and us breathing in the sweet sweet antifreeze
I am very familiar with the residents of that area and having them steal scrap/metal/copper. MM which junk yard did they take the stuff too, we have had some stuff go missing and we haven't been able to find it at the local places. I do love the down east area and would move there if I could find a job.

Yep, but the long range stuff would tow when they got down to the harbor, outbound, or after they got through the East River to the L.I. Sound. Or any large bays down the coast.
They pushed in the canals and the intracoastal. The only way to control them in tight quarters.
A lot of work switching from push to tow or vice versa.
I've met some tug/barges in some pretty tight places on the ICW.
