Now a Ford truck with a Cummins in it (more popularly known as a Fummins)...yeah buddy!
Three reasons:
1 made by International

2 they put it in a Ford

3 it's made by International

Word on the street is the new Ford diesel is a 6 cylinder B series.

Wasn't it the 6.0 that had problems with the HEUI system?

My 6.0 was awesome, and yes the 6.0 had problems, but it had less problems than the 7.3, and that's the engine that EVERYBODY swears by. The only reason the 6.0 was so notorious was because when it did have issues, they were expensive issues. The 7.3 ate through about 20 sensors a year, they're just $2-10 sensors.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with Ford. They make the best all around truck by far. The Cummins is great, but Dodge has the cheapest feel to them once you're inside. Chevy probably has the best interior and quality, but the Duramax was far worse than any Powerstroke ever dreamed of being.

But if you have issues with International, the latest 6.7 is Ford built, and its coming out of the factory with more horsepower and torque than most any Cummins, Powerstrokes, or Duramax with a tuner.

My brother-in-law (best diesel/heavy equipment mechanic I've ever even heard of in MS) loves fords; I think it is because they are easier to work on with all the practice .
He was very helpful when I had that ford exploder; we pulled most every part off it at one time or another, had to use his work truck's hoist to get the back high enough to slide the broken transmission out.

I'll drive any ford somebody was to give me, only in town with a charged cellphone & on-tap tow truck.

I am not saying it, but you all know what i'm thinking, and it isn't "this is hump day".

Wow!
Not the response I expected...
I was certainly employing a more literary use of that phrase, referencing an action or process that cannot be reversed, usually with negative impact...
Ummm, no mis-step intended...

I would take a Ford with a Cummins in it, if someone gave it to me. I honestly haven't known anyone to have problems with the Duramax, but then I've never claimed to know everything. Either way, I'll stick with CAT, Cummins, and Detroit and I'm talking 14 L Cummins not 5.7 L

Today in class we were looking up specs my instructor made it VERY clear that it's spelled C-U-M-M-I-N-S no G the website is quickserve.Cummins.com he said, "if you type that in wrong I'm sure you'll get some interesting stuff."

the Duramax is actually a pretty decent engine. one of it's biggest problems was the fuel injection system. it was designed to run at very high pressure and was very fuel quality sensitive. fuel filter changes are definately a requirement, and the fuel filter is pain to replace. the Dodges with the Cummins had the worst transmissions, automatic or standard. pure junk. at least the Duramax got an Allison transmission.

Oh, jeeze, that's gonna cost you. I figure pushups for every point down, so...DROP AND GIMME 2!

You really are going to blow some employers mind one of these days.

How much longer before you hit the workforce?
