I'm working another double tomorrow...worked one today...and yesterday...and an extra single this past Saturday...that's at least 32 hours of overtime...that I can remember...

I can feel myself ready to fall down right now. Mmmmmmmmm..... this tile floor in the office is gonna be so nice and cool.... I haven't gotten over 3 hours of sleep a night in at least 3 weeks.
You need a take a day off every once in awhile. Your going to work yourself into an early grave.

As for today, start chugging some coffee.

16+16+16+8=56

Holy **** batman. That's just in one week outta the two week pay period. I didn't pull any overtime at all in the first week of this pay period. And I think there's some time missing in there somewhere. I stayed late one day so that my coworker could go bail his buddy out of jail.

No, wait, wait, wait, wait.... I see where I'm getting confused. Each 16 hour shift only counts as 8 towards overtime, and 8 towards regular time.

8*4=32 in OT for the week, ending tomorrow night at midnight. I was right the first time.

Dude. Enough with the math. Save those precious few brain cells you have left that aren't catatonic from lack of sleep for necessary functions.

Like breathing.

I think I could give you and Zombiegirl lessons on how to get a good night's sleep. I am a professional sleeper. I fell asleep sitting up in a chair last night while watching a movie with Balota.

Folks, I'm barely over minimum wage. Now, my bills ain't bad, but at my pay rate, if I only worked a 40 hour week, I'd only be able to afford my bills (includes utilities and other necessities like gas and groceries) and nothing else. No savings, no occasional steak (at home. Like spirits, I always consume at home, much MUCH cheaper that way), no extra gas money to go to my sister's place (<10 miles), or my parents (>150 miles). No extra money for such things as flying to Colorado to see my baby

Shoes and clothes for Sue are covered. Clothes for myself... I shop at Goodwill and yard sales because I can't afford new. Not even my boots are new. I'm happy with this. If there were no Goodwill, I'd likely just learn how to make my own moccasins.

My job covers my needs. Working my ass off and pulling extra shifts covers my wants. It's all part of living the TRUE American Dream, working hard (or smart) to pull yourself up from nothing by your own bootstraps.
