I hear the 'fringe benefits' at the DeLorean dealerships just blow!

I don't think Tesla is going the way of DeLorean. I am quite certain that as long as their battery technology stays cutting edge they will be a top contender in the world automotive market in a few years.

You should definitely make that stellar move to amazing Tesla right away. You've all but submitted your resignation letter already... Go for it!

i look for huge advancements in battery technology over next several years. they have made progress in batteries that electric cars are now becoming more feasable. this has been one of the huge hurdlesthat has hindered electric cars for years.

Vikingdad, i wish you luck with whatever decision you make, and good luck.

They still make DeLoreans though.. A brand new one will set you back a $100,000. You can even get a electric one that can power your house for three days if your power goes out... Can a Tesla do that??

I have been considering it for a couple of weeks and felt it was only fair for him to know. I am his assistant manager in our small shop (there are three of us) and I have been working there for over three months now (though I have known him for over 20 years). Not sure if I did the right thing though. Today he was a bit upset. Seems he found out that I have had another job offer as well and for significantly more pay- though one I did not initiate nor was I looking for it. The offer came out of the blue and while I did go over and talk to them I did not accept the offer (at least not yet.)

On the plus side though I did clarify exactly what my position is there, and how I could represent myself in my application and resume. I have also called two of my former supervisors and talked to them with the application in mind, and got some extremely favorable responses. They both said they felt that I was one of the best employees they had worked with, and both of them (one was my shop foreman, the other was my direct manager) said that they felt I was more of an equal than a subordinate, even though "on paper" I was a subordinate.

Also, my former foreman works at a completely different job now in a research lab, and he said that in the next six months he was expecting that there would likely be a position for me there (if the corporate mucky-mucks agree that they need more technicians instead of an engineer- which they are extremely top-heavy on.) So there was another tentative job offer there too!
CONGRATULATIONS!! I wish you the best of luck. Get out there and get 'em!!

Our U.S. Navy sometimes has 4-6 months deployments. They could do 31 days standing on their heads.

Count yourself blessed.
