So...
This evening while making dinner, I see a magazine and round sitting on the counter.

hmmm.... What the hell?

Check... Yup.

Cleared my gun before cleaning it yesterday. Forgot to load it, and have been carrying a damn empty gun all day.

Dumbass of the day.

Well, most situations that require you to draw your gun, end without you actually having to fire it, but you may want to keep it loaded anyways.

Mr. Trip, Please write 100 times on the blackboard "An empty gun is only an expensive club!".

Went into the local Police Supply store, open carry, with my gun locked open and magazine out. Got a couple pretty funny looks. At least I had a good excuse. I wanted to test fit my XDm Compact in some Safariland ALS holsters. Didn't want to be unloading my gun in the store. When they realized why I was carrying locked open, they just nodded and smiled...

But other than that, it is hard to imagine a good reason for carrying empty!

Bear in need of self-improvement lessons in FL. Some kind soul there could help him become a GOOD bear.

edit* Wonder what a bear or mountain lion would do to a generator with a roast ziptied to the muffler. THAT would be awesome on youtube.
