From Alan Korwin's "The Uninvited Ombudsman"
Educator's Minute: "Control the kids and you'll control the country," is a plan our government schools and the teachers' unions have pushed way ahead. As a friend and non-leftist educator writes: "Having observed 2,000 students in my online university economics classes, I can tell you virtually all arrive believing: --It's the government's job to make the economy work
--Business is your enemy
--Government should set prices
--Labor rates should be set high to "raise the standard of living"
--Labor-saving devices are bad
--Wealthy people are greedy and should be taxed to benefit the community
--Keynesian economics is the only proper course and the Austrian school (Hayek, von Mises, even Friedman, etc.) are unfeeling market-driven cretins
--And they have no concept of entrepreneurial risk and reward. The saddest part is that the "educators" who promote this drivel and anti-American socialist claptrap propaganda believe it's accurate, instead of the antithesis of what makes America great -- Adam Smith-style capitalism and free markets.

Let me just say this....
1500-1600 calories a day and no mojitos is Hell on Earth.
No sourdough.
No Burgers.
No Pasta.
No Sammiches.
Having to eat salads and all sorts of other greens.
I have a thumb dammit - I am supposed to eat meat and sourdough...

LightLife :: Our Products
Try these & see if you like them. They are like hotdogs but no meat & low fat, low cal; the sodium is a bit high though. If you slap some kraut on there, you won't know the difference.
I ate them for a long time as a hot dog substitute, and then read the fat & calories info.

Cane, there are a number of frontline teachers who don't like the new status quo, but the administrators making the policy do usually seem to line up as your post indicated. I taught night classes at a community college for about ten years and worked with an interesting mix of people, part-timers who taught at high schools full-time, full-time community college instructors, and a few professionals with advanced degrees teaching on the side. Many of those people exhibited a good deal of "common sense", but most also complained about the direction that their administrators were taking education in their school system.

Cane,That was funny!!!!
I had a blast last nite and went to the 1st annual Johnson County Friends of the NRA Banquet. I go to the TSRA Banquet almost every year and it's fun,but there are too many that go to it with DEEP POCKETS so the live auction is a joke.
The NRA Banquet was a great one, even though I didn't win squat! There were around 150 people there and I knew quite a few,so we all set together and joked around all nite.
If any of you,has a chance to attend one of these-GO. You will have fun,and just maybe win a nice gun or something else in the raffles or auctions.

Holy Crap!! 500-800 calories a day is WAY below what a man is supposed to be intaking to lose weight brother.
We went to see an actual nutritionist - because everyone knows "something" about weight loss, but the problem for me, is that I have a bit of OCD and I want to know "A lot" about how to make myself lose weight.
For a male, 1500-1600 calories a day with MINIMAL exercise is the intake to keep you moving, motivated and losing weight at the same time.
Going below that number, unless you are a bed ridden Sloth, will actually force your system to shut down on calorie burning and try to preserve as much as possible for self sustaining systems.
I would recommend you add a few more calories before you crash out completely from lack of blood sugar.
And yes, I agree - DIEting sucks.
Damn Mojitos and their sugary, boozy goodness....
Getting old sucks....
