He probably can. I had to download an "app" that makes the Desktop the first thing open. But anytime you do something to start one of the other apps it can be a pain to get back to the desktop.

If thats the case why is Detroit the "Motor city"? Why do all the car companys have "motors" in their name? Why do boats have outboard motors that are powered by engines? What about rocket motors?? How about a motorcycle? Why do you buy motor oil to put in your engine?

Wondering whether I should go for the Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA or just grab a 12 pack of some adjunct lager.

Why do cars park in the drive way and drive on the park way ? Why more hot dogs in a pack than buns in a pack ?

Kinda awkward sitiation this morning , on the way to court to dismiss a inspection ticket , I passed 2 cars then a wild life officer waiting to turn out , all at 90+ , he was lookin me pretty hard . Get to court ..........there he is

Pucker butthole and whistle random tune while casually sneaking away

My teachers get mad when someone says motor. Drives them crazy, drives me crazy.

Trez, just because it is used improperly doesn't make it right.

Say, what is it that they call those funny brackets that hold the engine in place in the car?

But its not incorrect.....

Quote:
A motor is a machine that converts other forms of energy into mechanical energy and so imparts motion.

An engine is a motor that converts thermal energy to mechanical work.

So an engine is a specific type of motor. That's why it's not incorrect to speak of a motorboat, or a motorcar, or a motor speedway, even if the boat or car is clearly powered by combustion.

Note that if there's no combustion, there's no engine. Purely electric cars don't have engines.

Trez is right. It's basically like calling a rifle a gun. It's a specific kind of gun, but it's still a gun.

I usually say engine when refering to cars though.
