I've been trying to find a gator so hard. I'm simply just a little North of their prime habitat. I'm going to Lake Charles for a week this summer though.

Well, had some time between jobsite visit and speaking engagement. Lunchtime, Fairfax VA. Hmmm- discussion of vegetarian diet and guns. Fairfax....

How about the NRA cafeteria? Today is STEAK DAY! Ribeye, medium rare, baked potato, green beans. Then a tour thru the museum. *burp*

Winds- they have Annie Oakley's shotgun and pistol (will be sending you photo) Dirty Harry's 44 Magnum, and Josie Wales' revolvers. Quigley's Sharps rifle, Eisenhower's 45, MaCArthur's .32 Colt, and Chuck Yeager's gold plated .32 he got from Cuba. Gyrojet rocket carbine, and Rooster Cogburn's carbine. Elmer Keith's 44.

Had the chance to meet Mr. Jim Supica, director of the museum. Jim and I have corresponded over the years, never met face to face- hell of a nice guy, and THE guy to head the museum. He has also been so kind as to grace the pages of our humble forum to help in a quest for info on a gun in the past.

I wouldn't mind, except I'm not a big fan of gator meat.

Can't stand the stuff myself. Tastes just as you would expect a damn lizard to taste. I just want the hide. Many people will buy the meat. Quietly...

I'd like to see if you could make a set of 1911 grips out of a gator....

As to the best all-around climate in the USA, its right here in California, specifically right here where I live. Never too hot for very long (though we will get up into triple digits once in awhile), never too cold for very long either- we will get snow here at the house once in awhile (2000' elevation) but it never lasts more than a day or two, the most I have ever seen was in '76 when we got over a foot. That stayed around for a couple of weeks. Played hell with the trees.

In the summertime we will get maybe one or two rain showers, enough to cut the dust a bit. Here at the house we will get around 50 inches of rail annually, but only a third of that down in the flatlands (Silicon Valley).

You can drive from the beach to the high Sierra in a few hours. Surf in the morning and ski in the afternoon.

The political climate sucks balls though.
