He was recommended by a friend. He did good work, it was just some small stuff that I'm to lazy to do properly(trim and quarter round, railing banister).
The part that bothers me is that if I was working at someone's house and was thirsty, I would get a glass of water, I wouldn't have cared if he got some soda out of a 2 liter bottle, but to open a can of something you don't know what it is. I would not do that. Most contractors I have met also always bring a large jug of whatever they want to drink with them to the job site.
Plus it was his loss because on the last day of work I always offer up a couple beers from the kegerator to anyone doing work at my house. It's just the polite thing to do. That's beer that he probably would have liked.
Oh well, live and learn.
