In Grapevine Texas on business at the moment. May not be as hot as hell, but I think you can see hell from here! Molding on windshield of rental car melted and pulled loose. Outa here in the AM.

I have a feeling that something epic (to me at least) is going to happen very soon. Something that goes perfect with my recent purchase.....

....what could it be?

....wait for it.

....wait for it.

Epic, SGT. Not as great as Cane's 1,911th post, but close. Very well done.

Damn, only one small problem Sgt. Kimber does makes a nice 1911, but Colt 1911A1.... was what God taught Jesus to shoot with.

Logic 101

An interesting letter in the Australian Shooter Magazine, which I quote:

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops
in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same
period. That means you're about 25 per cent more likely to be shot
and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the
US , than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion:

The US should pull out of Washington.

Amen Brother! Now if you can only convince the mainstream media of reporting something like that!

Well, hell's bells. Another excessive heat warning here in Las Vegas today. It's in effect until 1900 hours. "But it's a dry heat." Yep. It is. At 0506 hours, the humidity is only 17%. As the day wears on, that will drop considerably. It's been between 8% and 11% lately. I can take a shower and when I walk outside, it's not even close to being sticky, as I found out while in Huntsville, Alabama back in 1976 during my Army A.I.T.

A coworker is bugging me to go to the range at the Bass Pro Shop because "it's air conditioned." Big whoop. The air flow/air exchange in the usual ranges I go to keeps things cool enough for me. I'm waiting for another coworker to return from vacation so I can go with him to Desert Sportsman's range (private range). Outdoors. I can take my AK-47, AR-15 and both Mosin-Nagants and blast away til my heart's content out there. One of the rifles he's bringing is his Garand. I've already got the "hots" to buy one and all that's going to do is add fuel to that fire.
