Yeah, I saw that. What a shame. He might as well have sprayed it with rustoleum and kept it in a duck-tape holster......

Did you see the pics the inventor of that cat cam had or the ones submitted by catcam users. I liked the "Oh a Snake" pic best. Apparently, felines are mechanically inclined or something as almost every user had an "under the car" pic or two.

I've seen that episode a couple of times now, pretty good. I didn't realize that cannons shot cartridges; i thought "cannons" fired cannonballs propelled by user-packed powder. I thought things that used shells or cartridges and resembled cannons were called something else? I really like the old ChrisCraft boat the guy's son bought (next episode, i bleve).

I love ChrisCrafts <SP> my uncle and Dad had one. They're a classic with that mahogany (I think) haul. I've never seen a boat of it's size/class with such nice looks.

Screw fiberglass, I say!

While beautiful, owning wooden boats is a labor of love involving more time in maintenance than in actual time on the water. A local 3-story Marina on Lake George mysteriously burned to the ground several years ago. They catered exclusively to owners of antique Chris Crafts. Many of those boats have Chrysler 440 cu.in engines in them and you can always tell a Chris Craft by the throaty roar they make when opened up. Over one hundred boats burned. The restored "African Queen" resides on Lake George. I saw it one afternoon when I was cruising the lake and did a double take. Sure enough, it was the real deal.

Wow RL, who'd a thunk! The other "Original African Queen" is tied up at the dock in Key Largo, FL.

That means at least 200% of the "African Queens" are still on the water!

LOL...This was in 2003 and it sure got my attention. I pulled within 50 yds. of it (didn't want to intrude, as he was pumping some old lady that looked like Katherine Hepburn) and the owner was wearing the same hat that Bogart wore in the movie. It had the flag on the stern and the name on the bow and transom also. I don't know how many African Queen's were made, but if this wasn't the original it was a damned good imitation!

Hell that ain't no random thought OC, that's a damn emergency, especially with the weather were having here. I do not know how hot is up there, but no AC sucks and the bill that follows repair, sucks even more. Here's hoping it's just a minor repair.
