Truer than you think. The office nearest to my home closed due to budget cuts. One lady who I kind of got to know during my visits to the unemployment office, she IS unemployed. Ironic, isn't it?

Dad worked at the unemployment office for about 40 years, the stories he used to tell were pretty good. He worked in the tax collection department not the benefits section. He had businesses that would intensionally not pay thier unemployment taxes because the small penalty when he came to audit them was way less than an accountant would have charged them.

I was looking for my boss, found him sitting in the break room talking to the office manager, asked him to help me with something; I have too much to do he says, go start that truck I'll be out in a minute he says, I sat in that truck for about ten minutes keeping it running and finally gave up on him and found something useful to do.

The easy way is to make me do it.

My laziness always showed up differently. When I worked at the lumber yard a long time ago they would send yard guys with me to help unload big windows and doors, or big trim orders. Of course they were away from the yard and tried to make it take as long as possible so they wouldn't have to go back to soon.

Very few of them ever understood that if you did a 1 hour job in 45 min you had 15 min to sit under a shade tree and drink a milkshake.

If I do a one hour job in 45 minutes and don't take a break I can get more done in an eight hour day then go home and drink a milkshake and feel good about what I've accomplished....

True but as a mechanic you are probably on flat rate.

The guys worth taking along were worth bribing with a milkshake now and then so they wouldn't pass the job down to someone below them who would turn an hour job into a 2 hour job.

I actually am paid hourly right now. That's why I didn't say I'd make more money. I just feel better when I know I did everything I could in a day. I hate wasting time. But I can see where you are coming from.

personally i like to get a job done and move on to the next one. by getting a job done quicker, it gives me more time on the one that ends up being troublesome in some way.

Actually my laziness is more theoretical than actual, but I did mean what I said about the milkshake bribes. They used to send the new guys with me to train, I had more than 1 that didn't come back after the first week a couple that didn't come back after the first day, and one that didn't come back from lunch.

Car shopping is hard, now I am not sure if I want a Camero, mustang or charger. Of course it must be pure black
