I've always thought people should have to learn to ride before they get a car driver's license and license people for motorcycles here as in Germany -- you have to work your way up in combinations of age, formal training, and power/weight.

As for your Mom, Trip, you can't protect them forever. We just do the best we can to prepare them and hope for the best...

I know, right? And this is the woman who didn't want me to ride because she was afraid I'd bust my skull.

A buddy of mine told me he caught her doing a burn out on main street, small town Mississippi.

Seniors these days...

She wasn't even surprised when I called her.

I think I'll like her too. I just hope she likes me. I'm real concerned. But apparently his sisters like me and his friend said I'm cute, so far I'm doing good...

I can see you and my Mom now, souping up the bikes and raising hell. Did I mention they have an extra chopperish style bike? A Vulcan 900. My Mom rides a Yamaha Stryker 1300. She's been dumping every spare penny into that bike since she's gotten it. She's got the forward pegs, sissy bar (she road trips, its convenient to strap luggage to), leather bags, black and chrome. She plans on getting ape hangers soon.

This is how it started out.
