Very-very long story made short, my IACV shorted and took my Computer (ECM) out with it, as it fried a chip on the board!!! Got new IACV and sent my ECM out for repair from a reputable company. Got them back few days ago, installed them, did all the idle re-learn procedures and not 10 miles down the road smelled that sweet smell of another computer chip melting away and p0505 again. Tested the parts, another shorted IACV and fried ECM. Back where I started with a few hundred bucks wasted. Spent the last 2 days testing continuity/shorts of the whole electrical system and all is good with that. Very confused, only thing I think off is my replacement IACV was bad out the box. What a nightmare, could have bought a nice pistol after all this crap is hopefully said and done :-(

The IACV/ECM issue is a well known Maxima problem with the 00-01's, hell its even common that the electric motor mounts take out the ECU if they fail!!! No circuit protection in any of these items, just bad engineering. I'm kicking myself I didn't test my replacement IACV before installing it, to rule that possibility out. Also that I sold my truck a few months ago.... :-(

Smog pump? WTF???
Call me crazy but I like the ability to get home with nothing more than some bailing wire, duck tape, and minimal tools...
I remember one day my fuel pump went out, I got home by pouring gas down the carb, driving 5 miles, pouring more gas in carb, drive some more... If I woulda been in a "new" 4x4 with EFI I woulda been hiking home...

What kind of radios are you talking about?

Ive been considering turning my Rampage electric after it wears out. I figure its small and lightweight, But is there a way to get enough batteries without losing my bed?
I live quite aways from town and would need something that could go at the very minimum 50 miles without recharging. (More would be better!)

Ummm........because they are family.....?
I promised my future DIL I will try to be the best MIL the world has ever seen. I support her and my son and I mind my own business. If they need me, I'll be there but I won't butt in. And I tell her often how glad I am she's joining our family. I tell her she's awesome, I praise her cooking, I tell her she's looks nice when she dresses up, etc.

you know the old myth that most men hate their MIL's. well i guess i am fortunate, because my MIL and FIL are some the nicest people i know. i actually knew my MIL and FIL before my wife and i met. i knew my wife's sister and brother for amny years and had met them several times in the past. my brother actually worked with my FIL and my BIL at a lumber store before he opened his own shop.
one thing i really respect about my MIL is she's very nice, but will still speak her mind without trying to be mean. she's a very honest lady and very down to earth. she and i get along really good.

I can't believe there is no thread on the Super Bowl. It is today, isn't it?
