New topic:

If I was to set up a few days the middle of July for any member of this forum to come to my range and meet, hang out and fire off a few ( as many as you bring ) rounds, free camping, free range time and good fellowship how many feel they could make it? Another thought if enough participation was expected I'm sure I could get cut rates at a local motel about 3 miles away at St Rd 3 and I 70

You can find directions to my gravel pit / range at www.greensboro-sand-gravel.com Easy access off I 70 - - - I could arange for the local SWAT team and drug dogs to be on site for demonstrations and training if we had enough people that thought they could come - - - and the middle of July would not be cast in stone I just want to be in a slack time as we still row crop 2,300 acres and about 300 acres of hay as well as the gravel pit.

Any feed back can be here open forum or you can PM me with questions you do not want in the public domain.

He was a Finance major and one of the things they taught the students was how to go on an interview, specifically a dinner interview. They had to wear suits and ties and went to a fancy ballroom on campus. They were served a formal meal and were taught which silverware to use, how to conduct themselves and other 'rules' like don't get drunk (duh!), don't order an alcoholic drink unless the interviewer does, don't drink more than the interviewer and other rules of proper dining such as when to send the fork off with the plate and when to keep the fork, etc. They were also told to not discuss certain subjects, etc. I thought it was a great idea. So many young people don't have any clue how to eat a 'proper' meal. My son kind of liked the lesson.
I am past 40 now and have managed to avoid all but a very few fancy "formal meals" in my life. It is VERY worth it. About the most "formal" meal i will participate in is a "rehearsal dinner" for a wedding, and i've become damn good at avoiding those along with getting drafted into a wedding party.

I mean seriously, what is the justification for using eating as a background activity for an interview or presentation? Perhaps we could have a group crap and discuss the budget for last quarter? Maybe we could all have a group shower while we discuss water conservation goals for the company? Maybe everybody could come over to help me dump the litterboxes while we discuss which tax software would be the best for next year or which seminars we want to attend? There is no reason to combine a meeting with something that can happen later, much less when you wrap the two in formalities and steep them in tradition.

Eating on a date is one thing (you gotta see her teeth), but i've sat with a glass of water through many office "dinners" and just stopped off for a decently enjoyable eating experience later.

"Formal Dining" FTMFL!
