I slept in a hammock in the radar room of the USS Holland (AS-32) on those rare occasions we would get underway. That way I was close to the equipment I was responsible for and the CIC gang could find me in a hurry.

You can get a hammock that comes with a stand. That's what I had.

My 1911 is the one my father carried in North Africa in WWII - - - I also have the holster he carried it in, both show wear but are in great shape considering their age and history.

I also picked up a cheap 1911 in 22 cal so I can put lots of rounds down range.

My Israeli brother in law makes hammocks from used parachutes. I don't ask where they come from.

Considering what I know of his background (which isn't much, there doesn't seem to be much to know) and the fact that he took down 5 armed thugs on the bad side of Rio de Janeiro, I figure the fewer questions I ask, the better.

Zackly-
I've always been a fan of "Don't ask if you really don't want to know"
