Thanks c3. The only thing that would really comfort me would be a new revolver.

For size comparison, the upper and lower revolvers are I frames- the upper is my new .38 S&W, the lower is a .32 hand Ejector in .32 Long, made in 1904. The center revolver is a Mdl 66 Combat Magnum- in .357 Magnum.

Yes, I like my wheelguns!
The new one looks tiny! I can't see that being comfortable to shoot.

Well, SORT of new. Kinda.

Stopped by a new shop/ shooting range after work to say hi to an old friend who is working there. Shelves and racks are danged near BARE, shooting range is PACKED. We were talking, and looking over the sparse offerings of firearms that the ravaging herd of locusts (new buyers) had left, when I looked down in the showcase. Hmmmm........

S&W. Revolver. Nickel plate. Flat latch. 4 inch bbl- but SMALL.

Later on it would become known as a Model 33- but when this one was made, S&W did not have model numbers. It is an I frame- smaller than the J framed Chief's Special. Square butt, 5 shot, caliber .38 S&W.

It looks to have been shot less than a box of ammo. The knurling on the hammer and trigger are still sharp enough to shred the tips of your fingers.

Copy of my C&R in my wallet, checkbook in other pocket. 2 minutes later, while the other folks are still filling out their 4473's, I am DONE!

Pics tommorrow- can't find the cable to hook Droid to this computer!

*Insert fiendish laughter here*
You are so lucky. And probably the reason that revolver was still sitting there is the "newbies" (and I would include myself in that group) had no idea what it was and didn't want an "old gun" but wanted a flashy new gun. Preferably semi-auto.

Great find, beautiful revolver.

You know what I don't understand? Feminists. I mean really extreme feminists. Like the kind that would get mad at you for opening a door for them...

Here's my deal, I know I can do things for myself and I know I'm a bad ass, but man these gas cans are heavy, someone offers to put them in my truck for me, you just knock yourself out sweetheart...

1. Yes, Is tiny. However, .38 S&W and .32 Long are not high recoil rounds. Now that Mdl 66 loaded with 185 gr handloads is another matter!

2. Unfortunately, I do not have any new revolvers. That one I showed you is from before WW2, and I could not hurt your feelings by offering you a 60+ yr old revolver. Nope, just could not bring myself to do that.

3. I hope the youngsters keep going after the plastic gripped semi autos. Will leave me alone over in the corner, offering to cut cards for double or nothing, and how about 10% off for cash?

4. A TRUE feminist will not get upset when I hold a door open- and will hold a door open for me. Folks that get into a screaming hissy fit over something THAT unimportant must really be uncomfortable in their skins.

For the rest of you- the last thing I want to do is hurt you.

But it is still on my list......

My first revolver was a h&r top break 38s&w, 5shot. Sold it to a hippie I worked with so he could shoot holes in steel drums for burning trash. He got pissed when that feeble little bullet "wouldn't penetrate the can" Lmao. Still wish I had it though. The guy ended up dying of cancer.

I agree. I am so flattered when someone holds a door open for me or some other act of kindness. Feminist or not, I can't imagine being rude to someone that is being kind to me. It's just not my nature.

Well, thank you for the act of kindness of not hurting my feelings by offering me an 'old' gun. And it's new...........to you!

My first and only revolver was a M1895 Nagant from 1937.
