I will not comply. I will not lie down. I will not go quietly. I will not submit. I will not roll over. I will not shut up.

Well, SORT of new. Kinda.

Stopped by a new shop/ shooting range after work to say hi to an old friend who is working there. Shelves and racks are danged near BARE, shooting range is PACKED. We were talking, and looking over the sparse offerings of firearms that the ravaging herd of locusts (new buyers) had left, when I looked down in the showcase. Hmmmm........

S&W. Revolver. Nickel plate. Flat latch. 4 inch bbl- but SMALL.

Later on it would become known as a Model 33- but when this one was made, S&W did not have model numbers. It is an I frame- smaller than the J framed Chief's Special. Square butt, 5 shot, caliber .38 S&W.

It looks to have been shot less than a box of ammo. The knurling on the hammer and trigger are still sharp enough to shred the tips of your fingers.

Copy of my C&R in my wallet, checkbook in other pocket. 2 minutes later, while the other folks are still filling out their 4473's, I am DONE!

Pics tommorrow- can't find the cable to hook Droid to this computer!

*Insert fiendish laughter here*
Download the app on your Droid and upload them that way?

It's easy to email the picture from your phone to yourself, open it on the pc, then upload.

I hear that! Czechpoint is over $1000 now on theirs and with a 2-3 month wait.

Of course, there is always gunbroker (will make you broker), but this isn't the Czechpoint version and probably isn't anywhere near bid out yet.

Oh sorry about that Orange! I didn't mean the Sa vz. 58, I meant the FN FAL-SA 58 rifle by DS Arms.

Still, I hear you on the VZ 58 though. I wish I could find one of those too. That last one I saw in a LGS that I go to from time to time wanted $1,200 for one, and that was nearly five months ago! I'd love to have both in my collection. Actually, if you are interested here is my short list of the semi-auto rifles I've been pining/looking forward to adding to my collection:

FN FAL/SA 58 (Standard Configuration)
HK G3/PTR91 (Classic Military Configuration)
Springfield M14/M1A (Standard Configuration)
CZ VZ 58/Sa vz. 58 (Standard Configuration)
Springfield M1 Garand (Service Grade or Better)

I have also been wanting to add a bolt gun to my collection soon, but I don't know which brand to go with: Remington, Howa, or Savage Arms. I just hope things cool down in the long run because I would like to acquire these rifles before they're gone forever!

I just got done reading this on other website and came over to post it.
While Texas and Arizona have been battling it out for number one state, Wyoming is trying to sneaking up on both of them for the win.

OK- pictures! Here is my (nearly as I can tell) new pre-WW 2 S&W.This is an I frame revolver- very compact little gun. Yes, it is going to the range this weeked.Name: Model 33 004.jpg

For size comparison, the upper and lower revolvers are I frames- the upper is my new .38 S&W, the lower is a .32 hand Ejector in .32 Long, made in 1904. The center revolver is a Mdl 66 Combat Magnum- in .357 Magnum.

Looks like my brother in law might have had a heart attack last night. The guys 6'2", 220, not even 40 yet, runs and works out, and quit drinking and smoking for the most part. He has been going to school full time while working full time, though.

Primer- hope things are going OK with your brother and family. Age and general health is no guarantee of anything. My roomate from Army OCS graduated, drove home to Chicago, stepped out of the car in his folks yard- and his heart quit. Age 23.
