Yea! We might have our own version of the wooden nickel now!

Alex Trebek: "The $1,000,000,000,000 coin is the result of this."
Me: "What is a kleptocracy Alex?"
Alex Trebek: "Correct."
Me: "I'll take signs that your country is going down the toilet for $600 Alex."

Apparently alcohol and escalators aren't a good combination... Who knew?

Do you really think it will be that hard? Have you not learned anything from history?

Well, considering that the founders made sure to make the process super hard, and the Dems just don't have the numbers for it to make it through both houses, and that most of the states wouldn't go along with it, then I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it won't happen. It has been proposed before by the same guy, and was struck down.

Your talking about amending the Constitution. Not just passing some law.

Quote:
The United States Constitution is unusually difficult to amend. As spelled out in Article V, the Constitution can be amended in one of two ways. First, amendment can take place by a vote of two-thirds of both the House of Representatives and the Senate followed by a ratification of three-fourths of the various state legislatures (ratification by thirty-eight states would be required to ratify an amendment today). This first method of amendment is the only one used to date. Second, the Constitution might be amended by a Convention called for this purpose by two-thirds of the state legislatures, if the Convention's proposed amendments are later ratified by three-fourths of the state legislatures.
