70's !

I dont know, I just never been really impressed with "modern cars". To me there just more trouble and cost than there worth.. I refuse to own anything younger than I am (1984)

There are times my IH's nickle and dime me, but there no $400 ignition module, $200 idle solenoids or expensive special tools to work on it with...

Why in the hell do they need to make a special $100 tool just to take a water pump off with? Or disassemble half the car to change a damn belt?

Even gas mileage isnt that great on new cars/tucks.. I see commercials showing trucks getting like 18 MPG. Really? My 1973 IH pickup gets 15-16. 40 yrs. later and trucks get a whole 2 MPG better... My little Rampage gets 30 MPG with a carb, but my Grams 2001 Toyota Camry only gets 26 with EFI?

Haha, alright 70s.
I love simple carbureted engines and all, but fuel injection definitely has it's benefits.

Call'em fart cannons around here , then you always have the redneck in the ragged chevy c-10 with glass packs and a bad exhaust leaks that causes it to pop pop pop pop when ever they let off of it .
Every now and then a wrx or a cobra will buzz by pouring the coals to it and it sounds right good .

Who remembers flipping the lid on the air filter to make it sound louder back in the day ?
Did it to every suburban mom ever had lol
We use to go bar hopping in a old lincon limo with a 4.6 , we put aprogrammer in it cold air , x-pipe and dumps , she was bad now , she hauled many a piece of strange back in the day . The black beauty . You could get drunk or high just by sitting in the back and Chairman of The Board cd was stuck in the cd player

Not that I blame you for thinking that way, but generally newer vehicles are safer with antilock brakes, nose shattering airbags, crumpled zones, etc. Thwy handle better too.

Mileage? Many new compact cars can get 35-40 mph. The new dodge 1/2 ton pickup can get 25 highway. My old thunderbird with a 215hp v8 gets 25 hwy. My wifes 220hp fusion, an older one, gets 32 mpg highway, I've even squeezed 38 while drafting a semi. That fusion with a six speed tranny will take my bird any day. The advantage of mine is the availability of engine mods, which ironically I can't afford, because I make car parts for a living.

most of them are improperly lowered to the point they can't go over even a speed bump without bottoming out, they put a huge exhaust tip on and make lots of noise but aren't making anymore power and a bolt on wing that will pulled off if you blew on it hard enough!
I know, that's the problem. I actually tried to explain to a guy last week why increasing the compression ratio increases horsepower... It's not that complicated!

Yeah I even broke it down Barney style and explained it the simplest way I could and this kind just said that's stupid. And I'm over here like, no dude, that's basic physics, you're stupid....
