The floating island was cool as hell . I would live there .
And that tiger could have that damn life boat too
Anyone remember the old mid 90s movie called No Escape ? Ray Lolita goes to this prison island ?

Fixing to watch K-19 Widowmaker , forgotten goody

yes did watch the movie "No Escape" just a couple of weeks ago. not a bad movie at all.

"K-19 Widowmaker" is a pretty decent movie as well. i need to dig that one out and watch it again.

At this time of year you might have liked Joyeux Noel.

"Lincoln" bit the big one, well, except I felt bad enough to go out and emancipate the slaves. It was bad. Spolier Alert: Lincoln dies in the end. Until then it's basically un-friggin-watchable, especially the first entire half. "Excuse me Mr. Booth, can I borrow that Derringer for just one damn shot to MY temple!?" No, good ol' boys can relax, John Wilkes doesn't have a cameo. But Hollywood will have to give this flick awards if not 40 acres and a mule...

Gotta say Team America - World Police is funnier the 2nd time but those guys always go just a level too far for me.

Ted (the unrated version) was the same way but also a good, funny, and actually moving movie.

Now, have you ever seen or even heard of Killing Zoe? Got and rewatched that recently -- I didn't remember a single scene. Pretty much worth it.

Equilibrium. Seems to be becoming a bit of a cult classic so I finally had to see it. It was OK.

Road to Perdition? Also worth seeing. The original OG!

Now, if you're like me you struggle between Gibson's abridged but period Hamlet and Branagh's anachronistic spectacular. Well, Gibson's is a fast and entertaining production -- how he could play a half-mad-man I'll never know. I mean, it's so far out of his experience (Mad Maxs, Lethal Weapons, Braveheart, The Patriot, Conspiracy Theory...). I'd watch both or, better yet, skip 'em and read the original play (maybe with a copy of Asimov's Guide to Shakespeare at hand)...

Finally, does anyone actually LIKE Taxidriver? What's THAT about? How and why!?

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

Built a picket fence today, couple thousand feet. Rode a horse around a couple hundred acres repairing a barbed wire fence.

And my 1911 riding in my Longballer custom holster did not shift or become even slightly uncomfortable the entire time. What's more, the guy I was working with never noticed I was carrying.

Nothing like a happy ending.

The bear's picture as it fell from the tree was one of the most "viral" pictures on the interwebs this year. I would like to see the other picture of it.
