LOL Clearly. But let's get dance lessons for any Marlin youngins; I'm bright enough to guess they won't go to waste either way.

Politics takes money. Asking for some often gets it.

You say something to THEM? Try this...
  1. Call Membership
  2. Ask them to make you Do Not Mail/Do Not Call
It is what I do when I give gift memberships so friends aren't inundated (I know what you mean).

I'm still plugged in at PVF and ILA levels -- you don't have to be. We all just need to do what we can -- nothing more, but nothing less. I also tell 'em to keep their silver bullets and baseball caps when I donate.

Believe me, I know. I didn't just fall of the turnip truck. I am on the "do not promote" list and urge those of you who complain about the solicitations do the same. I still get stuff but not as much. I just got a reminder that I need to pay dues today- even though my renew date is in August. That sort of sh!t annoys me not because I would fall for it but because there are lots of people who would get the notice and pay for another years membership and then do the same thing next month when they get another notice. This happens with older folks all the time. My father-in-law would over-pay all the time just because he was old and forgetful, and he could not afford it!

To me this sort of thing is just patently dishonest. That is just not right for a membership based organization like the NRA. I expect it out of subscription companies (and this is precisely why I do not subscribe to any magazines). I am a member of Costco. They send me a reminder when my membership dues are coming due. Not 9 months in advance. Why can't the NRA do this for Pete's sake? Like I said, patently dishonest.
