I was going to go to my daughter's tonight. She got a Keurig for Christmas and she was going to give me her little 4 cup drip brewer. I only have instant coffee in my house. I was also going to have dinner with her and my granddaughter. I decided to stay home. It's getting bad out. The wind is kicking up, it's starting to snow and the temp dropped drastically. I'm staying home. My granddaughter and I are having a pajama party Saturday at my place because the little one was disappointed I wasn't coming over tonight.

My place was a freakish mess. Then Balota came to visit. I panicked. It was fairly presentable when he got here. Now I'm cleaning out cabinets, drawers, closets, etc. I've lived here since 1986. Raised 3 kids in a very small house. Sometimes it's like an archeological dig. The further I dig, the older the items I find. Fourth grade pictures of my son who will be 29 years old on December 23rd (if the world doesn't end tomorrow).

I still wonder how much cleaning my parents did when they sold their house in the mid-1990's, particularly of the rear attic. The access to that part of the attic was limited to one bedroom, mine for many years. IIRC, that part of the attic contained my stuffed animals from childhood, most every Beta porno in my zipcode (party background scenery), and NUMEROUS liquor bottles from my high school days (and some similar items).

They never have mentioned that; i'd bet it is still there.

What are the two guns that you want most if you don't mind me asking?

I really love the M1 Garand and its successor the M1A platform. Both rifles are on my "must have" list of firearms to get. I found a M1 Garand at a LGS that I go to from time to time, but the condition that it was pretty much standard grade and the asking price was way too much for the condition that it was in. Oh well, if I can find out where my local CMP is at I can see what they have in stock. I would love to have a Springfield 1903 as well, but I hear depending on the version and manufacture date depends on whether or not it should stay in the curio cabient or can actually be shot.

There are a lot of classics I would love to have including a Mosin Nagant rifle (I know they are dirt cheap, but it's hard to track down one in excellent condition in my area), a Mosin Nagant revolver, a CZ 52, and a few others. I ought to post my most wanted list on here sometime, I'm sure some people would be surprised in what a youngin like me would want in terms of firearms collecting.

I want all the US weapons but mostly a military 1911 and IHC Garand...

I guess I cant get rid of my '03 its the only rifle my friends dont make fun of..
Despite being apart of this so-called "COD/1st person shooter" generation, I think the 1911 and M1/M14 are the greatest firearms ever made...
It doesnt help any my favorite gun is made by my favorite truck/tractor company.

To be honest I dont get what the big deal with the AR is... Other than being light and the ability to mount accessories. They feel so awkward to me, everythings in "wrong" spot.. Where the charging handle should be is a dust cover (Really? Arisakas had those... ) Why is it on the rear of the rifle? Or the mag release or safety - Why cant it be near the triggerguard like every other rifle? Usually after people put all that "crap" on the rifle its lost its advantage of being light...
Lastly, 5.56 Nato vs. .30 Goverment (06)... 'nuff said
