I also know what it would take to make several different rifles fully auto. I don't posses the tooling nor the inclination to do it, buy why wouldn't everyone want to know for reference?

Remote-controlled airplane solenoid and controller perhaps?

How can you tell if its a trainer ?
From what i have read they were a tougher gun than most any in their time , enfield , nagant ect ect .
The Type 38 Arisaka was the strongest bolt action of the war (I think the M1917 was second..) But im starting to think your might be a trainer, they were made with a lower quality metal, and were made to only fire blanks (If at all)

Here are some pics of my T38... It has a ground mum but you can see the Kanji that translates to "38 Type", the Serial and arsenal are on the side near the bolt release.
In the first 2 pics theres a small triangle in a circle stamped on the barrel, that is the overload proof mark, it got after testing saying it was safe.
The extractor on the bolt looks strange to me, does it look like the one in my pic?

.... Oh yeah your rear sight is on backwards too!

Winds, you need this old man to introduce you to the AR platform. (Back down you perverted members, this is a sincere offer platonically made to a good friend, sands gender!)

I have offered this help to you in the past and foresee a similar positive result in this introduction to the .223 Rem [5.56 mm NATO] world! (especially in the AR ownership world with the current political environment!)

Winds, it's winter, what better time to visit your buddy in Ft. Lauderdale? I'll gather the parts and assist you in the assembly. (You can apply your own sun block!)

Trust this old man, it's something you need to experience!

Winds, that is a $259 trip on Amtrak, not too bad with enough time to see some landmarks in D.C. (can go Pittsburgh if you are scared).

Check the flights into the rat house (Orlando) they are typically the cheapest, and rent a car to drive down to Ft. Lauderdale. (Or if you ask me nice, I could pick you up.)

Just find a cheap flight to Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Miami or Ft. Myers and I will be there with (suppressed) bells on!

Trainers usually arent worth much, so id hang it on the wall.. Or find another one and let your kids play "Army" with 'em
