I misunderstood the article. I thought the cops were moonlighting as mall security.

So the signs would supposedly prevent me from carrying (ha!), yet I have the same, if not more training, than the average cop on the street. And have a cleaner record than many of them now do.

The mall near me has the signs on every entrance, and the security cannot carry guns. It will happen someday there, too. I won't be there to stop it because I don't shop there.

When I'm on my darn phone it won't let me post a link. Just google shooting at southlake mall in hobart, IN and it pops up.

Viking, you're right the cops were moonlighting. I didn't read the article because some people I work with were there and I have old students that work there.

I remember an interview with one of the survivors of that Luby's shooting years ago; she said she reached for her pistol in her purse and realized it was in her truck. IIRC, both of her parents were shot that day.

In MS, the cops are technically always "on duty"; i don't see them getting baninated without some seeeeeerious legal rewriting.

Dr. Suzanna Hupp is her name and it was in an address before Congress. One hell of a brave woman.

Possessed Toaster live interview on the Today Show in 1985 (yes, this is a real honest to God recording of the TV show!)

They may be dirty... That causes squeaking and if they're cheap pads or they don't have new anti rattle clips they'll squeak. It's usually a wear tab that causes squeaking, if it isn't that it's dirt or excessive vibration.
