And this would be why my sister kept water in her car all the time while living in Tempe.

A Toyota would take the abuse much better than the jeep. I bet Trez would let you borrow his scout, it would take that like a champ.... (please take note, I said something nice about an international and I can't take it back. Ever...) I wanna ride my KX down that road.

I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

I think you did miss my point...
If guns didn't ever exist, nor are they in the hands of criminals, police or Military (whom some consider all to be one and the same, not I though), then I would have no need or desire for a gun.
Having the fact that guns are a part of our evolutionary history, as of now, I'm more interested in historical guns than anything. Also, a point in favor of guns, is the fact that they are absolute engineering marvels. I mean really, have you ever broken down a SAW? Look at it's simplicity coupled with it's deadliness. Absolutely beautiful.
And because I may one day be attacked with one, I find it relevant to keep one of my own.
It goes the same with fast cars. They evolved from competitive nature, just as guns were.
So... now that I think further into it, if mankind didn't have this competitive streak, we'd all be a bunch of walking, non violent hippies.
Long Live The Gun!!!!!!!!!!!
Hippies... My son doesn't like them either. He says they smell funny.

IF there were a feasible way to take the guns out of the hands of criminals, our police, and our military, I would give mine up too. I would no longer have much use for one, other than hunting. At which point I would use a bow. For self defense, a sword, rapier, or knife.
I understand that not many others feel this way, because a 90 year old grandma can't very well be expected to defend herself with a kitchen knife very successfully, among other examples of guns being the great equalizer, but this is my personal opinion.
|
IF that were to happen, say just wave a magic wand and POOF! all firearms and variants were gone from the face of the planet, it would be only a matter of a very short time before people made new ones. I would be right there at the front of the line.
