The problem is I bought a Toyota with a V6, not a 4 cylinder. That's right up there on the list if the five worst ideas I've ever had in my whole life...

Oh, mass airflow sensor
Wow. That is a lot. Look at the bright side. Now if something goes wrong, your list of suspects is drastically shorter.

You forgot the fuel injectors. They may not have been bad, but you still had them worked over, so it counts.

If anything else goes wrong with it I'm swapping the engine...

At least you had an EGR valve; that was left out of the design for the QR25DE in my sentra. That coupled with a rich fuel mix and a close-coupled pre-catalytic converter means that the owner needed to remove that precat and replace it with a header to avoid a problem described best as "catastrophic engine failure due to oil starvation" and remarkable losses of compression. Of course there were also the "longing to fly free" screws in the intake on that engine; a little loctite and elbow grease shouldn't be considered unreasonable care, though.

But i still love driving the lil thing.

edit* I forgot the failure-prone cam & crank position sensors, what fun to reach that crank was, good times. Have you checked those on the 'yota; if they cheaped out and didn't use a metal shell to enclose the sensor, the oil will probably eventually kill it too. Oh, and crappy motor mounts; got those replaced with solid mounts of high-strength polymer.

If I didn't have to have emissions on it every year I would have just bypassed the whole system, my cat is empty anyway it's wouldn't hurt anything. These engines have head gasket problems, that is their biggest flaw.

I chickened out and paid a shop to replace my headgasket and drill the two thermostats a couple of years ago.

How about your floormats? Mine were recalled for interfering with the accelerator.
