A canter is horse jogging. A saddle horse in a canter (jogging) is the roughest ride in the world. That's the reason for, walking, racking, singlefoot, and other types of gates that horses are trained for. To get somewhere and not run the horse in the ground but have your body parts intact.

If you know how to move properly in the saddle and work with the horses stride it isn't a bad ride at all.

I rode a camel at the fair once; MUCH smoother ride. I seriously don't think i have been on a horse since the jogger; why any fool would think a person would want to rent a jogger horse is beyond me.

I went to a progress meeting with my Dad at his Nursing home/rehab center. He is progressing nicely, gaining strength and learning how to walk, get out of a chair and in and out of bed on his own. He is very happy there. He joins in a lot of the activities and is making friends and having fun. He says the food is good and he has no complaints. They fully expect him to be able to return home if he keeps working hard and gaining strength. I am so excited for him. It was cute because he kept saying, "I'm glad I've been doing good and you got a good report on me." It made me think back to the days when I brought home my report card and said the same thing to him. LOL

I got him new reading glasses that work well for him so know he can read the newpaper he gets every morning. I'm happy when he's happy.

Yea, try it with a bag full of nerve endings between you and the saddle then get back to me.
