Losing a dog is like losing a best friend. It hurts forever, but other friends come along to help ease the pain. Keep your chin up. Having a K9 family member is one of the things that shows true love, because it's optional, you don't have to have one, yet you CHOOSE to have one, and dogs rarely outlive their humans. We set ourselves up for heartbreak when we love a dog, but they fill a void. Most other animals are pets (or pests), but dogs are family.

Iv been there several time mon ami. It sucks ass but it's well worth the pain in the end. Idk if you can bring yourself to do so or not but going to a pound and adopting a dog might help you alot. Dang sure will help the lucky puppy you adopt.

That does suck, but at least you spared it the slow & painful death of old age & illness.

Try a cat; they aren't so much pets/family as demanding houseguests.
