Seems to be that way with almost everything.

Had some pizza for lunch, nice. My beer experiment is going well; after a few more batches of homebrew from his MrBeer Kit, and my redneck shooting buddy won't be able to stomach Coor's. I have doubts as to whether he could drink the Natty now. The apple ciders are pretty good. I don't think i ever saw the boy drink a beer from a glass before he brewed it himself.

Muahahaha

We did it when as teenagers, we didn't carbonate the beer, would fill up 2 liter bottles. Great chugging beer. Not so much for enjoying. I want to try it again now, for flavor this time.

You should try the Mr Beer kit; the kit comes with a wheat beer usually or the cowboy lager , plastic bottles, and a fermenter plastic barrel. I paid about $30 for his kit. Even the first batch was good, IMO. His plan is to pick up a couple more fermenters and stagger his batches to have a batch ready every week (a batch is about 2 gallons). I am trying to convince him to move up to the nicer/more expensive non-mr beer kits and make 5 gallon batches.

IMO, it was TOTALLY worth the $30 to try it out.

Now if i could just find a red mesh trucker hat with MR BEER on the front foamy panel.

When i say the boy has changed beer tastes, it is surprising. He would still probably have a coors if he was out of homebrew, but he wants to go ALL homebrew. When i call this guy a "redneck", i live in south-central MS near a smallish town, and dude is one of the reddest people i hang out with. At his house, it is just as acceptable to pee in the yard or to hang out in the garage, and we frequently shoot targets from the backporch with the GP100 or the .22's. I think every male member of his family drives pickup trucks exclusively and has for some time. He is a good guy, but definately redneck.

This is interesting. I met the new babysitter and her husband yesterday. While letting the babysitter and my son get to know one another a little bit, the husband and I walked around while he was showing me some of the "yard work" he'd been doing.

They live in a group of homes all owned by close family members. I don't think the husband realized I even noticed, but the homes all have overlapping fields of fire, and one is very well placed to serve as a "back door" defense, conveniently occupied by the oldest of the family, the ones that would be least capable of fending off an attack. The "yard work" he'd been doing was coincidentally creating some very nice avenues of approach that would funnel any group of unwanted peoples into some very well naturally fortified secondary fighting positions.

They also have some almost impenetrable natural barriers to the left, right, and rear of the property, in the form of extremely thick brush, trees, kudzu, vines, ponds and streams.

I don't think the husband even realized I noticed this, nor do I think he realized I noticed the HUGE stacks of ammo cans and canned foods through the slightly open door of the shed.

I think I picked a good bunch of folks.
