then everyone got away from making small trucks. i think the Ford Ranger was the last one to survive of all of them. i just don't know why that an inexpensive small truck doesn't sell like they did years ago. and they must not, because most of them have disappeared from the American market.

back in 2000 i bought a 1997 Nissan KingCab 4x4 and i loved that truck.
I'm just gonna build my own. Early 90's Toyota pickup with 4BT

Does anyone remember the Jeep Liberty CRD (Common Rail Diesel) they only made it for a handful of years I believe 2003 to 2006 maybe? I don't remember exactly, I contemplated on getting one for my wife but assumed parts could be difficult to find if something went wrong. I would prefer a pickup but wouldn't mind a small suv either.

I do. My buddy had one. He didn't ever need any parts. Ever. They only stopped making them because of the stupid Obama green planet EPA crap.

Now that's what I'm talking about! It is a real truck too by the description. 13 tie-down anchor points in the bed, factory spray-in bed liner, 6-speed manual transmission. You can even get a lift gate!

I think your idea of a real truck and my idea of a real truck differ greatly...

purely dependent upon the need of the truck. i have no need or desire to move 80,000 lbs. of weight with a semi-truck or even 20,000 lbs. with a one tone truck, but a 1/2 ton that gets 25 plus in fuel mileage and can tow a bass boat and has four doors that has small four or six cylinder turbodiesel engine, would be interesting to me as well.
