And no, I never tried to foam breast milk. I was very serious about breast feeding my kids, though. I never even allowed a bottle to come into the house and never had any formula in the house. Those are implements of failing to breast feed. If the babies were hungry, they had to fill their bellies from me. I never had a problem breast feeding because I never set myself up for failure. Even one or two bottle supplements early on can doom the whole process.

Breast feeding was such a big part of my life while my children were young I remember once having a very vivid dream that I got hit by a car and I was laying in a pool of blood........with white breast milk swirled in there, too.

We were the same way with our kids, it was breast milk or starve. We were given formula samples (probably a case of the stuff) at the hospital when they were born but never used it. Of course there are some cases where the mother cannot lactate or is so strung out on drugs that the milk is no good, and in those cases perhaps formula is the best solution.

What I can't understand is why in many parts of the world they send formula (particularly in China) when the best and least expensive option is breast milk. Even if the mother is under-nourished the milk will provide better nourishment for the baby than formula will. Provide good nourishment for the mother and both will benefit from it.

But you can't make a latte from it for sh!t.
